Giving time for children to share their experiences with one another.

Going around the room asking each child to share their stories.

Responding to a child’s story in a kind but neutral way, not adding strong emotional responses to the situation.

Asking a child “What happened next?” if they don’t finish telling their story of something bad that happened to them.
